Additional Academic Support

FHS has dedicated two 40-minute periods each week in the 2024-2025 school year to Collaborative Response by giving their Sr. High students open access to teachers for extra help understanding concepts, or extra time to complete assignments. At FHS, we believe every student deserves a team and we ensure that as a staff by working together for every student in our building.

Robust Athletics Program

Athletics are an important part of the culture at FHS. From badminton to basketball to volleyball and curling, if you are interested in being part of a sports team, there is sure to be one for you at FHS.

Creating Career Pathways

Get ready to hit the highway! For those with a passion for the open road, as a member of the Peace River School Division, our students have access to the North Peace Commercial Driving Academy, when eligible. This new Academy, conveniently located at PRSD Central Operations in Grimshaw, provides specialized training to anyone looking to obtain their Class 1 or 2 drivers' license or air brake endorsement. 

Diverse Programming

FHS offers a rich variety of CTS programs. Programming may include: cosmetology, forensics, shop and home economics, sport performance, yoga, archery, and outdoor education.

Flexibility

We understand that every student’s journey is unique. As a PRSD student, FHS students have access to the PRSD Alternative Education Program, which includes the Virtual Education Program and Fairview & Area Learning Store (FALS). Need a course but can't make it work with the rest of your schedule? Speak with your school Principal to see how Alternative Education may help you achieve your academic goals.

Mental Health Supports

School can be tough, we get it. To promote positive wellbeing amongst our students, FHS is proud to employ both a Mental Health in Schools Student Support Worker and a Family School Liaison.

Will you need student transportation in the fall? Completing a registration form is the only way to make sure the Peace River School Division's Transportation Department has your information and can plan to designate a seat for you in the Fall. Apply early to ensure you are on a bus for September 3!
