Congratulations to PRSD's eBooks reading challenge winners

Congratulations to Fairview High School student Kalie Reamsbottom, and T.A. Norris Middle School student Colbe Todoschuk, winners in the 2015 PRSD Overdrive eBooks reading challenge.

Colbe won a $50 gift card for suggesting a new title for PRSD Overdrive and Kalie won an iPad mini for downloading and reading an eBook from the division's online book collection.

The challenge was open to all PRSD students and encouraged them to read an eBook from the collection and/or submit a suggestion for a new title for the collection to the Instructional Materials Centre (IMC).

“We are very happy with the number of entries this year" says IMC Supervisor Sharon Darrah. "During the challenge we had over 420 downloads and we love having the students share their ideas for titles. It helps us know what they want to read.”

“Promoting Overdrive through a challenge like this provides positive incentive for students to try an eBook.  Our extra promotion of Freedom to Read week in February may have also helped increase the number of downloads.”
